"Isabel Olavide"
Born in Madrid, Isabel began her dancing career at the Madrid Consevatory when she was 12 years old. From there she proceeded to the Boston Consevatory, where she broadened her dancing background and performed in various cultural events hosted by the Spanish Consulate.
After further study with Spain´s leading flamenco masters.
Isabel joined the “Teatro del arte Flamenco” company. She toured throughout Europe, performing with some of the greatest flamenco dancer of our times.
In 1985 she participated in the film “El Amor Brujo” directed by Carlos Saura.
The year after, she represented Spain at the Festival of the World, celebrated in Nagasaki, Japan.
She has performed in different “tablaos” in Madrid: “Corral de la Pacheca” y “Venta del Gato”, among then
In 1992 she created the Flamenco show “Al Son del Aire” that has been represented until the end of this millenium, and toured throughout Spain and Morroco.
The next performance prepared and directed by her was “Flamenco y Palabra”, flamenco mixed with poetry, that has been successfully received by the Madrid audience.
At present she is performing and directing the show “Dímelo tú Flamenco” this new creation takes in the two preceding shows and brings us to a new flamenco dance dimension.
Isabel has always conbinated her Flamenco profesional career as a dancer, choreographer and teacher. She has been teaching in different Dance- Academys in Madrid: Relatores-Studios, Amor de Dios etc...
She has her own studio in Madrid were she is teaching during the year.
